Job Title: Senior Program Manager

Baytna Syria was launched in 2013 as a networking, training, and grant-making facility for Syrian civil society organizations, offering support to CSOs based inside Syria and the neighbouring countries.

Baytna Syria’s management is seeking to recruit a Senior Program Manager to support the Executive Director (ED) a**nd coordinates the implementation of the three main program areas, i.e. (a) hub; (b) capacity building; and (c) grantmaking. The SPM is directly accountable to the ED for effectively performing all responsibilities. The SPM provides reports on all aspects of Baytna Syria performance as requested by the ED. Based in Gaziantep, the SPM supervises the program team in Turkey, Syria or any other location.**

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates and works with Syrian stakeholders and Turkish partners on project design, proposal development, and contractual agreements;
  2. Develops and reviews in coordination with the ED the overall project work plans and budgets; provides guidance to Baytna Syria staff in their delivery of duties;
  3. Provides technical guidance and oversight to the project component, including direct supervision of the Capacity Building Officer, Grants Officer, Field Program Officers, and Communication and Events Officer;
  4. Provides technical assistance and takes leadership in monitoring project activities to ensure implementation in a systematic and timely manner, to follow work plan targets, achieve technical requirements and complete deliverables in accordance with sub-project agreements and budgets;
  5. Sets and reviews project reporting schedules, templates, and requirements, and guides the Capacity Building Officer, Grants Officer, Field Program Officers, and Communication and Events Officer;
  6. Is responsible for ensuring program reports are submitted to the ED and / or donors;
  7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • More than five years of relevant experience, including at least two years of experience in CSO management.
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in a study area relevant to civil society such as political science, development studies, humanities, economics, business administration or related fields, Master’s degree prefered.
  • Professional experience in Project Cycle Management (PCM)
  • Familiarity with the Syrian conflict, Syrian CSOs and stakeholders; personal awareness and engagement.
  • Arabic and English are required.
  • Valid Turkish residency permits and ability to travel in the region.
  • Readiness to relocate to assigned location(s)
